I've been here once in the past, but some time has passed, and to be honest, this place had dropped off my radar. However, as we were headed for Xoticl (second time we've headed there and not made it) I saw this across the street and remembered that I had a decent meal here once upon a time, and realized it was time to give it another try. (it was also pretty cold and we were ready to go inside). I've very happy with the weather forcing us indoors because our meal was fantastic, and our server was seriously attentive and awesome. We started with beers and empanadas and they were both delicious. We followed it up with mac and cheese and I tried the vegan meatloaf. Now I do eat meat on occasion, but rarely do I really feel well afterwards, their meatloaf may not taste exactly like you butchered a cow to get to it, but it is pretty damn delicious nonetheless. The mashed potatoes it's served with are a decent quality, not fake, which is admirable. The meatloaf is served with some mushrooms and greenbeans, and I enjoyed it whole heartedly. For desert we shared some pecan bread pudding which was a bit dry, but it was still delicious. I definitely have fallen into the fan category for this place, and I certainly shall return in the future. Throw in the fact that I can walk there, and their beer selection is great, and how could I not be a fan?

I'm not sure who in my family suggested going to Amy's after we had stuffed ourselves with lots of cold beer and red wine topped off with a mound of nachos. The beer and wine were most certainly involved in the decision. I was feeling sluggish and simply wanted to lie on the sofa but the majority thought we needed to get out of the house. So we headed out to indulge ourselves in some cold, sweet deliciousness. Amy's is an "Austin Tradition" and my entire family loves to keep this tradition alive. Cute, young ice cream scoopers wearing clever hats greeted us as we marched in line up to the counter. After about half a dozen tastes (encouraged by my scooper) I settled on a tiny size serving of Ginger Snap with the pecan praline topping. So good my stomach did a back flip...or that may have been my body saying "Stop eating you little pig!" The twinkling lights wrapped around the trees at the Arboretum created a Fairyland for me while I enjoyed my tasty, sugary dessert. Large cow sculptures and rolling green hills added a rich backdrop to my fantasy. It was only after I finished my ice cream that I noticed I was wearing my slippers. Unfortunately, this was not a fantasy. It was just me unintentionally doing my part to "Keep Austin Weird".

Who does Infusion Lounge think they are? I arrived at 9:45 and waited in the guestlist line until 10:30...line moved about 5 feet with 30 or so people in front of us. We then switched over to the full price line which should move faster since we pay $20 per person....NOPE. This stupid line only moved because a huge group left. There is absolutely no control over the line. Anytime people would walk to the front, the bouncer would just say...."Keep the sidewalk clear" and push them to the front of the line. W T F I don't mind standing in line as long as it moves. By the time I got near the front of the paying line, one of the promoters comes out and tells the bouncer "We're not letting anyone in for a while." W T F I'm generally a patient person and this place just drove me crazy. I will NEVER return to Infusion Lounge. If there were hundreds of beautiful, naked women inside dancing all over me, I'd consider standing in line again. Doubtful that this will happen, Infusion Lounge can kiss my @$$.
