I think it's great that CAoS has NightLife every Thursday nights! The $12 entrance fee is worth it, but they don't offer AAA discount (regular hours only). I suggest coming here early if you want to see the planetarium, because the tickets go out fast until 6:30pm. Also they close the rainforest at 7:30pm. Since it's 21+, you get to wander around the kid-less museum, listen to music, and gaze at the incredible aquariums with a drink in your hand. However, the planetarium and the rainforest doesn't allow food or drinks, but that's pretty reasonable. The cafeteria has a variety of food to choose from, but it is over priced. I had my eyes on the $5 mac & cheese for a while... and I don't regret getting it! It had the baked crust with a hint of onion, so it was yummy and satisfying. My friend got 2 spring rolls for $8, and that was decent as well. As for drinks it's the typical prices from $6 to $9, but you can get the $3 special from 6-7pm. And there are plenty of stocked bars throughout the museum. I saw three on the main floor, one on the aquarium floor, and another on the second floor. Their beer selections are from North Coast Brewing, and I got their Blue Star which wasn't bad for a wheat beer. In the African Hall is nothing but taxidermy, but at the end of it you can see the live penguins getting their sleep. Another interesting thing to see is the albino alligator (not crocodile) staying perfectly still in his swamp. You can touch rough sea stars and prickly sea urchins at the Discovery Tidepool. If it's a clear night, you get a chance to use the telescope on the Living Roof, but bring a jacket if you do. Overall it's worth going if you like aquarium, planetarium, and natural history museum. It's the newest and one of the largest museum, and you can definitely have a fun experience with your friends there. Get there early for a good free parking spot on the street, or pay at their underground garage. Either way it closes at the same time as the museum.

Well, one thing is certain: David Judaken and Sam Nazarian are the two most powerful Hollywood Nightlife players. For serious. This is one of the most beautiful, unique, and fun clubs i've been to in a very long time. But, of course i'd expect nothing else from the team (Syndicate Hospitality) that brought us our [post] favorite hotspots in hwood [Mood, Opera/Crimson]. Yes, it does look and feel like a house. Yes, there is a lawn, a bedroom, firepit, [gorgeous] outdoor patio, and a kitchen that doubles as a bar. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to be treated to the cookies that i've heard about, nor did I find the rumored jacuzzi outside. BUT - overall this place was bumpin. And I mean bumpin. Every last inch of this place was packed by midnight, and it was definitely the biggest and best house party i've ever been to. Walkthrough - when you arrive at the gates, you'll be directed into the clusterfuck on the lawn. To the left is tables/VIPs/guestlist, to the right is general admission. [TIP: get there EARLY - the lawn fills up VERY QUICKLY, and if you want be whisked right in, have a good ratio and early arrival ~ 10.30 is suggested] Once you make it past the velvet rope you go up the front stairs. This part was a little weird for me - never before have i been FULLY FRISKED before I entered a club. Ladies, don't try to sneak any booze [or anything else] in your purse either, cause they search that too. AND THEN [reason for deducting one star] the cashier lady promptly asks the men to hand over that $20 (yes, even if you are on a guestlist, gentlemen) and once you do, a doorman will open the huge portal for you, and in you go to the greatest house party. Ever. When you walk in, to your immediate left are the bathrooms. One and only in the club so remember that. In front of you is a divider, but on the other side is the main space for dancing. To your right will be the Kitchen that doubles as a main bar. Beyond the kitchen will lead you to the patio with decadent tables and cabanas. Note: to exit the club you must go through the patio and out the back. Making a counter-clockwise loop from the patio, you'll find another smaller bar nestled nicely in a small niche. Proceed back in and you'll encounter the staircase to the second level. The second story of the house is relatively small, here you'll find the bedroom, (yes, furry bed and all that doubles as a "table") a few more tables and a bar. Back down the stairs, beyond the main dancing area, you'll find what I like to call the "living room" decked out with a super long comfy couch with tables. More dance space and some flat screen TVs. There is also another bar as you make your way to the "living room". The set-up was great. The music decent. The crowd, young/hip hollywood. Drinks were moderately priced (average $12) but the cups are smaller/narrower than most. ---------- Overall - the design and meticulous detail that went into this club is out of control, ridiculous. That is reason enough to come visit. Alongside the fact that it's the most happening spot in town right now, DJ AM spins every Wednesday, and you get to party in a house ... what are you waiting for - go check it out now! [Fellas, be sure to bring that $20, unless you have a hook up. Ladies, almost always free : ) ]
