I really, really want to like Flip more than I do. It's a really cute concept, inexpensive and opened by a cute celebrity chef. Unfortunately, every time I go here my meal is always kind of hit or miss. The veggie burger has vastly improved since they first opened. It's got a nice crust on the outside and a "meat-like" texture on the inside. The taste is a little boring and bland though. The crab burger is also only okay. The crabmeat tasted semi-fresh and was pretty bland. Even with the slaw that came on it the taste was still pretty underwhelming and had the faintest bit of fishiness. I don't eat beef but any time I go here with real burger eaters, they always enjoy their food. The sweet potato tots are super greasy so I usually forgo those in favor of french fries which are really, really good and are served with ketchup or a smoky mayo which if they would just serve with that crab burger it would probably be the best thing ever. The Krispy Kreme milkshake is so good. It has actual chopped up donuts in the milkshake. The Nutella/Burnt Marshmellow milkshake is not favorite. I didn't get the hazelnut flavor of Nutella. It just tasted like a chocolate milkshake to me with some marshmellows on top. All in all, I think that Flip is not living up to its potential but I will definitely go back- as long as I'm not paying.

As an eternal cynic, I WANTED to find SOMETHING wrong with Johnny Brenda's. But this place is perfect. I was most impressed by the friendly bartenders even during a hot, sweaty and slightly LOUD show.

Another club that folded. Mostly late 20's to early 30's patrons. Waaaay too much cigarette smoke inside - heck who needed a fog machine?! Too much "getting entry" politics
