by Andrea C. on Went here for the first time with some friends. Went upstairs to hear some live music (the band was very good...didn't know their name & forgot to ask). No cover charge either!! My girlfriend knew the bartender (he said his name was Latch). I told Latch that I wanted a REALLY spicy bloody mary. I'm a bloody mary snob and will only drink them if they are freakin' spicy with a lot of great seasoning/flavor. It was OMG....so amazing! So amazing, in fact, that I had to get another. I told Latch to make it even spicier this time and he did not fail me! His service was fast, friendly, personable, and dang...can he make some good drinks! I'm not a "saloon" type of gal, but I was impressed by this place. Will I go back??? MOST DEFINITELY! Especially if I'm craving one of Latch's spicy bloody mary's!! Really, the staff does make or break an experience and Shiner has got it down!!
by Valene Holmquest on I'd go back as long as I don't have to be the one that drives/parks. They need to do something about the parking lot. The traffic in the area is also very heavy. We went for lunch on a weekday and it was packed! This was a while back so it might have died down a little bit since then. I ordered the butcher's cut with fried pickles and chili. The burger was good, better than what you'd get at Chili's or TGIwhatever's but it was tiny and expensive. The pickles were gross but that's not their fault. I think I just don't like fried pickles. Have you ever eaten something that you think your taste buds should like? I love pickles and I love fried foods but it was just not meant to be I guess. Anyways, the chili was really good too but it wasn't the turkey and bean chili they have on the [online] menu now. I'm torn - the food is good but it is such a pain to get there and get seated.
