by Tenaya T. on This place is terrible. My friend and I were in New York on vacation and we heard the meat packing district had really good clubs. We saw a line at Tenjune so we though it would be a good club. The reason there was a line was because they barely were letting anyone in. All the bouncers were jerks to us when we asked how much longer we had to wait (we are two girls, and usually that isn't a problem to get in). We finally got in after an hour (I have no idea why we waited that long). And it wasn't even full. The people were trashy, and the music wasn't great.
by Leesa Dansereau on You gotta check this place out for salsa dancing Saturday nights, *especially* if you don't dance ;) I was kind of intimidated at first, but it's an unpretentious-salsa-crowd. Good vibes for sure. Take it from me, a simple gal who doesn't even know even know Salsa. My friend taught me some basics and we were fierce! (at least I thought we were, ha ha!). Plus the live music is just shake yo bum-bum fun. But be prepared because the dance floor is HOT! (I mean, hot and sweaty hot) Thursday is supposed to be the more "professional" salsa crowd. For now, I'll stick to Saturdays. Watch, learn, go dance, have fun!!
by Drucilla Stvrestil on any club that charges you 7 bucks for water and refuses to give you a glass of tap water is on my shitlist. music was horrid. who plays nirvana in a dance club? i mean, i used to wear flannel and black eyeliner and all, but really, my booty just can't shake to that. nostalgia or not. now, eleven50. that was a good club. (former opera) all that VIP area now in opera, that NO ONE hangs out on? that all used to be stage dancing for the more outgoing among us. it was awesome. and the music, though my friends are pickier than i, was varied and good. in fact i daresay, there was even the occasional chick who knew how to dance to techno in the main room, and MANY impressive cats dancing to the latin music in the other room. oh. and the coat check is 5 bucks too. what gives? why ruin a good thing? boo.
