by Alicia C. on I like the ambiance of this place the decor is really cute and the music is good too. The food was okay. I think it is too expensive for what it is. We got 4 tacos "nicks way" and it was almost 30 bucks! I wouldn't mind paying this if the tacos were out of this world, but they weren't. Tacos from a taco truck or a hole in the wall taco shop would have been half the price and equally as satisfying. Overall, I guess this place would be nice to go have drinks and hang out, but I wouldn't recommend it if you actually want to get something to eat.
by Wendy H. on OK...so I made a scene...who wouldn't after combining more alchie in your system than a frat boy's blender? This was our 4th stop of the night, and I barely remember. Thankfully, for your benefit, I'll review 181 based on my experiences other than the night of my bday. This club has 2 levels, the downstairs VIP section has tons of beds. I love the dance floor, it's annoying however, when it gets too crowded. Great music, with hip hop and fun party tunes which everyone can dance to. The top entrance level has a middle section that is visually stimulating, a middle platform built by a neon lighted floor. Music at this level is sometimes house, sometimes salsa. There's also a private room filled with candles all around - very chic, very loungy and very New York. But the whole club in general is getting less NY and more Jersey. 181 is like a pair of used shoes - we've had great memories togeher but the newer pair just seems to fit much better.
