by Numrin T. on Totally not my style. If you are looking for a filthy dance club look no more! The floor was sticky from spilled drinks. The air was unbreathable due to poor ventilation. The restroom was a pig sty...literally. The crowd were ok...expect to see people with sneakers, t-shirts and tattoos. Area upstairs was a bit cleaner and nicer though. There was a stage with poles for those who wanted to dance the night away. Surprisingly, you need to buy a ticket ($5 for advance purchase) or pay $10 cover after 10:30 or 11. The ONLY thing that kept me there was strong, decent and inexpensive drinks (served on plastic cups) and ok music. I made it through the night by getting so drunk that I couldn't care less about the place nor the crowd....just enjoying my time with friends and music.
by Erin M. on trudy's: the universal meeting place for the melting pot that is UT, with all its hippies, hipsters, fratboys, professors, post grads, etc,. etc. What can i say, i've yet to see a mix like this at other bars...oh but yeah, there's a whole restaurant upstairs! Isuppose i've spent most of my time at the airy patio downstairs, where thankfully, a few tables are reserved for smokers, and the chips and salsa are complimentary..Upstairs is probably the noisiest restaurant i've ever entered(stay away during parent's weekend!), but thankfully the full menu is available downstairs (during all hours, i think.) I do enjoy the food here, especially the stuffed avocado, but i think the margs are overpriced and slower than normal to be placed in front of me. Small things, i suppose, especially when the Apples in Stereo are playing on the sound system, the breeze is cool, and my hyde park home is just tripping distance away. all in all hook em!
