by James B. on Mayes is McTeagues next door dance floor. Mayes which is just a seafood restaurant by day just recently got a little cocky and started charging a cover. Really? Cover = 5 bucks. Extreme temperatures thurday to Sat. Impossible to talk so you have better got your words in over at McTeagues
by Tanya L. on I liked this place as a concert venue and the Raveonettes rocked here. It had high enough ceilings to provide for good acoustics and the drinks were reasonable. Warning: if you are tall, the lights may shine in your eyes and give you a headache, but if you are petite (5'3'' for example), you are good to go :) When wandering around, it kinda reminded me of a haunted mansion, but not like scary or anything. As for the Awesome 80s prom that is held here, the settings really do recreate a slightly dingy gym of a fictional Wannaget High school. They blast excellent hits. But boo for paying 9 bucks at the bar for a rum and coke when you've already paid like 50.00 for a breezy, yet borderline rip-off show.
