I don't have a problem with this club, per say, just the people who attend it. The first time I went, it was soo jam packed, it made me realize why they have long lines to get it. I ended up just going to the second floor where there was some room to dance without being shoved out of the way. Second, there are so many bitches here, it's unbelievable! The 2nd time I went, there were WASTED girls throwing up in the bathroom at MIDNIGHT!! and another guy was being carried out of the VIP room where he PUKED in the MIDDLE of the floor. WTF people?! learn to hold your liquor!!! I'm not a fan of the drinks. None have ever been strong or very good, except in the VIP room. The only reason I will continue to go here is if a DJ i know and like is playing. I do like the architecture, dancers, and decor.

I honestly believe that Marques Wyatt, single handedly, brought deep house to LA. The fact that the house music scene is still thriving and flourishing to this day is a testament to Marques's talent and ambition. Therefore, it's no surprise that he has a loyal Sunday night following for his club "Deep" now at the Hollywood Vanguard. For many house heads, going to Deep on Sundays is akin to attending church. While I'm a much bigger fan of the earlier venues, such as 1650 Schraeder, Deep will always hold a special place in my heart. If you make your way to the dance floor center or rear, you'll catch some of the best dancers from all genres, donning funky hats and wearing hip outfits. Wear whatever you want because no one really cares. All people care about is the music. Try as you might, it's impossible to be "different" here because diversity is celebrated. Be prepared to bring your ear plugs (or purchase a pair in the bathroom) because the Phazon sound system can be painfully loud. Also be prepared for some staggering drink prices. The place opens at 10 PM (? not really sure because I usually don't get there till 11:30 PM) and goes till 4 AM. That's right. You'll need a few shots of espresso in the morning as an eyeopener.
