Ruby Skye is an awesome place. I've been here twice, once earlier in the summer to see Andy Moor and just recently to see Felix Da Housecat. Both times I had a blast. I don't think this place fits the stereotypical image of a "club" which likely explains some of the low ratings. However, this place CONSTANTLY books some of the best names (make sure to sign up for their mailing list or be a fan on Facebook). It seems like what other people said, this is a place for true fans of electronic music. The sound system is just awesome. The music is blasting and sounds crystal clear. You can feel the bass in your chest. It's enough to keep you moving all night. They also have awesome rave lights inside, however I do feel it is generally a little too dark. They also have good dancers up on stage that keep everyone moving. Lines will vary depending on the DJ and night. When Andy Moor was playing, there was very small line waiting outside, but we had tickets and walked right in. The last time we went, we did not have tickets and got in the GA line which was way shorter than the will call line which was all the way down the block and we ultimately got in faster which was weird. The bouncers were very friendly though and even let my one friend in free! The alcohol was a little pricey, but comparable to other top SF clubs. Overall, I'd say if you want to dance to some good electronic music from a world-class DJ, see who's playing at Ruby Skye. If you're looking for something more casual or laid back, maybe check out another club.
