I heart their Saturday drum and bass nights. I do not heart that their drinks are so expensive and poured light. Were it not for the music, I would be giving it three stars because of that. Were it not for the drinks, I would give it five stars. You do the math.

I've been to The Granada multiple times and experienced a crowded but pretty decent place to go salsa dancing. You can find nice people there to dance with, but there is also a more stand-offish crowd. Up until last night, I would have given it 3 or 4 stars. But last night, I went with my new boyfriend, who has nice jeans, a t-shirt, and a suit jacket on, and they wouldn't let him in. The sign on the door said t-shirts are "at their discretion," and the bouncer (and his manager) decided "no" on us. If their policy is to not allow t-shirts, then they should claim that on their signs, not discriminate against us for whatever reason they see fit that day. If you do go, sign up on thegranadaguestlist@gm...to get $3 off cover before 11 pm.

Love Love LOVE the atmosphere in this bar. From the outside it seemed questionable. A friend I was with asked if it was a lesbian bar (the name?). But the inside is absolutely fabulous. I may be biased because I arrived with a preexisting love for kitschy skeletons, movies dubbed over in spanish, and everything dia de los muertos - but still. The margaritas were strong. The bartenders were a little on the sassy side, there was room for improvement there. The selection of tequila was great. Definitely going to back to sample the fare, and partake in $5 weekday 'ritas.
