A True neighborhood local dive, lots of cigarette smoke, I'm an ex-smoker, but it was nice to see smokers rights held true, three cheers for this dive, best philly cheese steaks, hands down I'm from Jersey and Iwas sucked into the Philly tourist traps, till my door man at my hotel turned me onto this GEM.

Cool daily specials. This place has Yeungling on tap! (at least back in 2004) Love the outdoor seating. Come during happy hour and get $2 drafts - or is it $4...shit it's been a while..but I do know that there is no better deal for a brew in Manhattan - unless you go Downtown to their sister bar. Love the free peanuts...and the back room for some reason reminds me of the board game Clue. Oh and the Fusbol table - I made alot of friends at that table. Bar staff at the time I was there already knew what I wanted every time I come in...which says I either spent too much time there or they have great service... I will go with the latter of the two to benefit the both of us! And I love it in the Summer on the patio after biking all around - I can finish my jouney here and keep an eye on my bicycle too. The hot food isn't bad either. Many a time, I'd drink at Jakes, then hit the BBQ next door.

When I want to hear House, I love King King. It's hard to find a good House lounge in LA and King King is our sanctuary. It has the urban underground Chicago/NY feel with the huge brick walls. Music is always good. People are amiable. And as a student speaking, plenty of street parking in the neighborhood (within 2-3 blocks). We never had to wait in line to get in. Cover is $10. Although they have a bar, I don't think this is a good place to go if your goal is to get drunk and find a mate. It's a great place if you like to dance... a lot...
