Came here with a bunch other rateclubsers in anticipation of bubble tea.  We skipped on Mozart Bakery because they only serve the blended variety, but hey guess what?  So does White Windmill. What is the deal folks?  Only blended bubble teas? Regardless, the taro bubble tea was still good and I got some coconut crisps that were also delicious. No complaints though.  Sure, the interior looks akin to being in an indoor rainforest on an acid trip, but the dessert/baked goods selection is ample and the bubble tea is solid. They don't have as many bubble tea options as Mozart though, so I'd go there.  Just sayin'.

Very hard to figure this place out. Located *deep* in the mission district, Medjool's is a restaurant, hostel, club ? What a strange combination. I suppose it can come in handy: Have a meal, party your ass off and then pass out in one of the many hostel rooms available. Personally, I didn't care much for the place. A huge floor on the ground level which turns into a Dance floor/Bar. A second floor that overlooks the first with a balcony for some fresh air. Then a few floors of Hostel rooms and a roof top patio (which is quite cool). Downside: drinks served in plastic cups, "interesting" crowd and the most amusing part, they have like 3 bathrooms (SOLO - one at a time) in this place. Watching people getting into fights (guys and gals) over cutting into line is absolutely priceless (how about a jab to the bladder ?). I suppose that's why they have the rooms for rent !

I've stepped down into Vessel a few times. The first being for their grand opening and pretty much the only time I was entertained. It's beautiful inside, a bit erotic, low tables for young ladies to shake on, the co-ed bathrooms are fun with their exotic sounds in the background, and the smoking room is a very well ventilated feature. However, the crowd is always a mixed bag- not in a good way. Last night was the last straw. I show up a bit after my crew, my friends already have a table, and yet they still made me wait. I HATE WAITING! ...and it's not like they were ACTUALLY at capacity. My friend had to physically come upstairs and he had to walk me in by hand because the bouncer was too busy explaining their current "situation". Ok, yeah. Update: One star back on because of the quality of the venue. Starting from their titanium crystal wine glasses, the Molton Brown soap in the bathroom, the thick hand towels, the toiletries, everything is picked with taste.
