We ended up here on Saturday post ACL Fest because we decided to grace our other friends with our presence (aren't we so lovely?) and their post-show dinner and drinks were already in progress. Initial impression - this seemed to be some kind of lounge-y sushi joint, as I guess it should be if it's mean to succeed where its located. It was mostly deserted and my friends were finishing up. I only sampled the edamame and unwisely agreed to a sake bomb. Both were decent, kind of difficult for them not to be. My friends seemingly had a pretty satisfying meal. The service was friendly and prompt. There are swell happy hour deals, of which I cannot currently recall (go me!), so should I ever venture into here again, I'd probably visit during then. Kind of undecided on this place, hence the three stars. It's nothing too special, nothing too drab . . . but I will say I'm usually not a fan of the modern lounge-y sushi bar concept.

I really wanted this place to be good, I had high expectations. I enjoyed the rat toes (jalapenos stuffed with shrimp and wrapped in bacon) and the blueberry lemonade. The BBQ Salmon however was bland and lukewarm, served with a heap of tasteless cole slaw and fried okra. My date ordered the gumbo, which she had to send back because it was barely warm. The gumbo itself was very mundane and gravy-like, hardly worthy of being called gumbo. It did come with a hush puppy that was really tasty. I may give it one more shot, but this place is really going to have to try harder to get my respect.

I use to come to the Final Final when I worked at the PSE, after work at like 1pm during the week back in the 80's. Those were some fantastic times! Anyway, on Saturday night after we left the Outlands Festival, we decided to hang in the city a bit. My friends had never been to the Final, and I wanted to go somewhere not to busy it was midnight and there were actually quite a few people from the festival there. There were 6 of us and we order some pints of Guinness with a few mixed drinks, bartender made us very stiff drinks which was nice although I really do not think we needed them, good service nice enough crowd not to loud. Some of the atmosphere seemed different, but it is still a fun bar that only regulars really know about, the prices are good and if you want to stay a bit out of the limelight, it is a good spot.
