The Box is an amazing venue incorporating early 1900's architecture and table service overlooking the stage if you so desire to live large. The shows are a variety of music, burlesque, acrobatics and some things which will make you question why you're there, but worth the experience. I promise. The drinks are priced at a premium but totally worth it due to the fact the mixologists are some of the best I've seen in the city. Tell them what flavors you like and they will rock your world. Don't sell yourself short and settle with a beer. You may see a few celebs here, but keep it classy:) Dress code is simply to dress to impress. There is no such thing as overdressing. Can't wait to go back!
by Delores Magill on Once, a friend had a birthday dinner, and then drinks here afterwards. I just went to the dinner. Another time, a friend had a going away party, so I was forced to go, and then was miserable the whole time. What is wrong with this place? There is one in Houston, and they have the same exact douchebags. The beer DOES taste off, and I have a funny feeling they don't clean their tap system very well. I avoid this place.
by Ben P. on With 500+ reviews, Bubble Lounge is clearly a darling of the Rateclubing masses. Since I'm going to add my voice to the masses, I should do so with the voice of the masses. So, a few weeks ago, Tony and me were stumbling around town, and wondering where we should bring ourselves in order to get drunk enough to start making bad decisions and maybe scope out the scene, and Tony kept suggesting Bubble Lounge, and I was saying I didn't really want to go to Bubble Lounge, and Tony's being very insistent and finally I gave in and told him, alright, let's fricking go to fricking Bubble Lounge. So, we roll up to the door, and get stopped by the doorman, because apparently this place doesn't let totally awesome people just walk in the door. And anyone who knows me knows, I'm not about waiting at no door. That ain't me. I mean, hello? I am hellacool, and you need to just waive me in, bro. And as I'm explaining all this to the doorman, and subtly mentioning that, hey, I'm a world-famous Ratecluber and I'll trash your joint in a review if you don't just give me what I want, this look comes over his face and he waves us both in. Probably the look that crosses someone's face when he meets someone better than he is. People give me that look a lot. So, anyways, we roll up into the bar, and just as I'm noticing this waitress who is totally hot [call me!], who do I see waiting but my bros Chad Q., Peter H. and Yvette T. And they were looking beautiful, as ever, even though Chad was rocking some broke-ass looking sunglasses [I warned you, man!]. So, we joined those guys, and started ordering up some bubbly. And, I have to admit, I'm not entirely sure what exactly we ordered, because it was mostly them doing the ordering, but let me just say I got some numnumnumylicious bubbly up in me. When the bubbles hit my tongue, it just tasted so good, right? When the bill came, it became obvious that each of those bubbles had a pricetag attached to it, and the party downshifted a little bit at that point. I mean, the bartender charged us for each and every single drink. What's up with that? So, 5 stars for being awesome and delicious, and for running into all you awesome peeps up in the club, belly full of bub, but -1 star for the doorman not recognizing a superstar when he saw one, and -1 star for being a little pricey and cramping a playa's lifestyle.
