One of my favorite spots in the city bar none. The Box is an amazing venue incorporating early 1900's architecture and table service overlooking the stage if you so desire to live large. The shows are a variety of music, burlesque, acrobatics and some things which will make you question why you're there, but worth the experience. I promise. The drinks are priced at a premium but totally worth it due to the fact the mixologists are some of the best I've seen in the city. Tell them what flavors you like and they will rock your world. Don't sell yourself short and settle with a beer. You may see a few celebs here, but keep it classy:) Dress code is simply to dress to impress. There is no such thing as overdressing. Can't wait to go back!

Folks gather round cuz I gotta tell y'all something. This place rocks. I read the other reviews mostly 5's and 4's and a handful of 2's. So I entered the with a bit of skepticism, however that was all blown away once a saw how the decor and the elegantly set lighting really set this place apart. I knew that if the owners of this establishment took this much care to design this space then their dedication to the food service and drinks should be the same. I was not to be disappointed. So my date and I took seats at the bar where we were so happy to see that it was loaded with finely crafted beers from all across the world (draught and bottled) and a descent wine list (It could use a little work but hey they just opened). My darling and I enjoyed a bottle of Louis Latour Pinot Noir and a few Hennepin Beers (Farmhouse Saison), both excellent. The food menu and the daily specials where short but had a handsome variety of delectable choices ranging from rack of lamb, quail, boneless duck (I cant remember the french word for it) and veal to mention a few. So in as regal a fashion as I could muster I ordered a perfectly grill marked medium rare veal steak (one of the specials of the day) that was paired with lightly seasoned sweet potato mashers and salad with apple slices and goat cheese (awesome). She enjoyed a special of the day also, a medium rare goat steak (slightly undercooked but still very delicious, it actually melted in my mouth, i couldn't help it, it looked so good) that rested on top of curried grits cooked with coconut milk and was topped off with a fried egg. My gosh my mouth is watering as I write this. The steak was paired with a side of sauteed kale that was very tasty and still held its crunch. We then retreated to the very cozy back patio to polish of the wine and beer and enjoy a few smokes. All in all the food was freaking fabulous and I really was pleased when while dinning was asked by one of the cooks how our meal was (apparently she had prepared it). The price and portions were just fine especially when eating such heavenly fare. My only true criticism is the wait. They could use maybe use a bar back to aid the bartender but even he was very pleasant. We had so much fun by the end of the night that we decided to be a little adventurous and try some absinthe and then stumbled out into the wilderness of the Austin night. P.S. Yo guys this is a great place to take a date!

I rolled in here with my buddies and had a lot of fun. Ended up meeting girls on the dance floor seeing as that's pretty much the whole place. There is little room to just vibe and shoot the shit. Well, there are VIP couches but you have to pay for that and what's the point. Anyways, we had a blast and met some cool people. We went on a Saturday night and there were a lot of gorgeous girls and most of them weren't even trashy! Try it out.
