When in line, there was this balding old man (60yrs+) with a horrible outfit that got in, all I kept thinking was "WTF?" um what am I getting myself into... ANYWAY....I didn't have to pay before midnight which was great because I wouldn't have shelled out cover. The music is hard core techno like something you would listen to when on the treadmill at the gym. Drinks are definitely pricey, what did you expect? However I love the huge shining disco balls above the dance floor. They are awesome. Male to Female ratio last night was definitely around 70/30. I mean overall it was a cool place but maybe if I was back in high school I would have felt like it was a great experience whereas now I'm just like meh. PS - Bartender made really strong drinks
by Rhian G. on I went to Drai's Hollywood last night for dinner. Our reservation was at 830pm. I had no plans to "dress to impress" as warned by the reservationist so I could get picked to stay for the club, I simply wanted to have dinner there. The outdoor 1/2 is unbeatable with great views and poolside cabanas. The indoor 1/2 is luxurious and red velvet with a few odd placements of plants. We had a lovely table and an even more lovely waiter, a gentleman with glasses who gave fantastic service. The food was really nom noms, we had kobe and peppercorn filet. Our table had a lovely view of the outdoor patio. The main fault was the 18 per cent service charge included on our bill which we then were told that this did not go to the waiter. WHAT? We tipped on the food, and paid the bill, the tip and the service charge but walked away from what we thought was lovely food and fun people watching, slightly tacky decor that probably looks good late at night.....into a one-star review. Dinner for two with drinks was $235 plus tip of $40 (remember we were tipping on the bill less weird service charge). Had the service charge not been included, this would have been a much higher starred review.
