Marquee surprised me. I went early on a Thursday, thinking it would be impossible to get in. I actually ended up being the bouncer's first pick. I chalked it up to them having a POC quota. The music was on point. I was loving the danceable old school R&B. It's a nice venue, overall. The only problem is the crowd. Booorrriiinnggg.

When and Who: My boyfriend and I went to Dbar for breakfast/brunch on Sunday Atmosphere and Setting: They have a small parking lot which is always a bonus in the Boston area, plus street parking available out front. We sat inside so we didn't get to take a look at the deck, but I loved modern atmosphere inside, filled with trendy lighting and long leather benches with chill music playing in the background. Staff: We were greeted promptly by a friendly host (who may have been the manager?). Our server was a little monotone but still friendly and was always on time to take our order, refill our drinks, etc. The manager/host came over during our meal to see how everything was, that's always a nice touch in my book. Food: I had the wild mushroom omelet and a mimosa, he had the BLT. Home fries were seasoned with deliciousness and his BLT was served on thick crusty bread, neither of us had any complaints on the food. The breakfast drink menu had more selections to choose from than most places, offering varying types of mimosas and bloody marys. The mimosa was served in a large shooter glass that was a little awkward to drink out of after the drink is half gone. Other: There's definitely a gay presence at Dbar so I kind of felt like a poser being there with my boyfriend. However, we did not feel uncomfortable and actually felt very welcomed so that poser feeling is probably all in my head. Overall: Loved my Dbar experience and would certainly go back!

Well, if you want to enjoy Boston in all of its collegiate glory, this is a place to go to. The amount of over-eager young men trying to mack on you is amazing and even after politely declining; they still come back for more. I like the cheesy "80's"..."90's"..."Current" music - great to dance to, and those side benches are genius for dancing on, although I'm pretty sure they aren't meant for that purpose. All and all a good time if you're not expecting much and can fend off the weirdoes with aplomb.
