OK, I'm kind of torn. The venue is great. Good acoustics, friendly staff, and as mentioned in other reviews the bathrooms are great. Unfortunately, the band I paid to see was only allowed to play for a little over an hour before the room was cleared for a another act. If I'm dropping $26 for a band and $11 for a drink, I don't want to get bounced after 70 minutes. The band was visibly pissed, as they hadn't played Philly in years (and probably won't be back, and least not to WCL). Total money-hungry BS on the club's part.

The first time I went here, I came for a salsa meetup upstairs, there's a fee of 10 bucks to get up there. I had a good time that night. I came back friday night and met up with some friends. We hung out at the bar in the front for about an hour. The drinks were reasonable for manhattan, but the bartenders were kind of slow. We went downstairs, the male:female ratio must have been 10:1 but I still enjoyed myself besides how crowded it was. The music was ok, besides when they started playing latin so loud that I had to go upstairs because my ears were starting to hurt. As I'm writing this, I'm feeling that annoying hum in my ears from how loud and pulsating the music was. But overall, 4 stars for being a free hangout with good music (if you like hiphop, reggae and latin), excellent decor, no hassles at the door, and decent drinks.
