This is one of my favorite Thai/fusion spots. The feel is casually intimate, the service is consistently good and both the Thai and sushi menus are great. Oh, and the music that plays in the background is always sexy cool.

Wow... my impatient wait for The Café to reopen was worth every second! The Cafe is an underestimated, but much loved part of the Castro neighborhood and gay scene. Man, they sure did spend a lot of money, but it was worth it. Changes to The Cafe: The DJ booth was moved from its moronic space right in the middle to the side wall, near both the dance floor and one of the bars. YAY! The lack of a big dark pillar of DJness really makes the place feel much bigger! Now if only Kidd Sysko would play music that is newer and more fun. It's still good stuff to dance to, as always, but I'm hoping they really start to bring it, making The Café known for its music, differing from the norm. They opened a whole new back chill area that was never there before. You may now find quieter area to chit chat back there as well as find the pool table. The inside smoking atrium area got updated--instead of awkward wrap-around benches, they separated an upper and lower part, so you can stand and model below or sit and chill in the upper. The dance floor is still there, but it feels bigger, though I'm not quite sure if it actually is. I was hoping they'd put in some amazing flooring, disco-style with a changing checker board of light, but all in all the space is better. I think the dance floor lights are the same--meh, but they get the job done. Bathrooms! Wow... there's an upstairs bathroom now! And it is nice--feels like the ones in Adobe, but fiercer. I did not visit the ones downstairs, so not sure but assume they've been given the face lift the rest of the pad has. Where the DJ booth used to be is a double-wide dancer's box area. Nice! The dancers will no longer have to do their thing on a covered pool table. The stripper boys are hotter than normal. They pull out all stops, I mean good steroids for them. `Nuff said. The side smoking patio that overhands the Zip Cars below in the Chevron parking lot is nearly the same, but the doors and windows glide open and closed with ease. I realize the bar staff constantly keeps shutting the doors to both keep the smoke out as well as the noise in--solution would be to have the doors weighted to automatically shut on their own. That way, the neighbors would be less likely to call with a noise complaint and for the staff to shut and lock the windows. When that happens, and it will again, they should have vents that still suck the air out (preferable continuous fan vents that pull the smoke up and out). Lastly, I noticed that The Café is now wheelchair friendlier! It has an elevator to get in and another to get the wheeled ones up the inside stairs. This was a very nice surprise to see. Overall: YAY! The Café is open again! And it's been given new life! I can't wait to boogie down here again on a regular basis. I've been going here for years before I even moved to California. That's loyalty baby!

Oh boy. I'm really not a fan of Thai & Sushi in East Atlanta. I can only speak about the Thai food since I have not had their sushi. But seriously, Thai people, be scared of this place! I started my dinner with Thai wings with sweet chili sauce and it wasn't so bad! But I really don't think the sweet chili sauce was home made. It actually taste like Mae Ploy (a Thai food brand). I also had the basil rolls with plum sauce. Geeze! These rolls were expensive, small and hard. The plum sauce didn't help. The pad see u... more like I don't see you. I didn't see or taste fresh rice noodles. They were dry, broken and tasteless. I was so disappointed. If you're in East Atlanta and craving Thai food, I don't recommend you wasting your money on Thai & Sushi. I do suggest you drop by the library that's down the street and check out a Thai cook book. Go home and try out a recipe. Your pad see u may come out tasting better that Thai & Sushi's! I'd be surprised if it didn't.
