I've been to Mezzanine twice - the first time for the Robyn/Kelis concert, the second for the Halloween "Fake Blood" party. I loved the space for the concert night, but I fell in love with this place really on Halloween. First of all, the space here is HUGE and it never seems to get too crowded or too empty feeling. I love the warehouse feel, and the sound system is epic. FINALLY A CLUB IN SAN FRANCISCO WITH HIGH CEILINGS! It's so refreshing that you can breathe here and don't feel cramped in like all those lame hipster bars on Divisadero. Really though, what made this club the best was the crowd. It wasn't too white, too Asian, too black, too latino, nothing. It was a perfect mix of everybody. Not overrun by rude hipsters from the suburbs who just discovered "counter culture" or Urban Outfitters, nor were there a plethora of Jersey Shore style douchebags. Nope, only nice, clean cut people there to have a good time and enjoy the great house music. Another element that's great about this club is that even at 2am, if you still have a drink in your hand which you just paid for, they don't yank it out of your hands, they let you enjoy the rest of it as it should be. I love the outdoor patio that they even had open til 4am (rare in CA), I was able to chat and meet a lot of cool people. Security/doormen aren't jerks. Overall, probably the best clubbing experience I've had in SF, esp. because they have very late opening hours so you can dance into the night!

LAME! What is up with the brights? They need to be dimmed. Who wants to drink in a bright venue? On that note, who wants to dance in a bright venue? I felt like i was at a junior high party (very nerdy and uptight). The layout... I like the design and the large tables with bottle service, however the poor waiters have to walk thru the middle of the dance floor to serve you. They were getting bumped all of over the place. Vessel could be so much more, but they just need to make some adjustments. oh yeah... The patrons=TOTAL POSERS!
