by Lucy W. on Food was ok and good value, though not the best tapas I've had. -2 Tacos- good tortillas but the fillings (chicken for one and fish for the other) left much to be desired. -Tasty patatas bravas= crispy potatoes were flavorful and came w/ a yummy aioli mayo sauce -Mixed greens salad- fresh and surprisingly not just taco toppings. -Stuffed mushrooms w/ queso...tasty but can use some breadcrumbs -Creamed spinach dip- good amount of spinach but should have more cheese -Chicken skewers w/ plantains...tough and the only flavor came on the sauce the skewers were bathed in -Raspberry lemon drop martini...very sugary and not too strong but not bad for $5 Darkened interior w/ little lights everywhere- loud live music was playing from the next room. Server had a knack of disappearing...couldn't find her to get the check and then pay the check. Great value, even without the Scoutmob we had...$5 martinis, and each tapas dish was about $5.
by Ashley J. on ****My review of Wednesday Latin Gay Night**** So being the good hag that I am I went to Venu for latin gay night. Princess and I first met because of our mutual obsession over latin men and he decided he wanted to go grind on a bunch of em in this club. I figured hell why not. At least they will be hot. So we get there and it is packed and there is some big scene going on at the door because some guy thinks they are letting too many girls in. Whatever dude, you know the scene, y'all got a hag in tow. I was not prepared for this scene at all. Not too much shocks me but this place was out of control. I would say close to 70% of the people where half naked, totally soaked and in one giant grinding heap on the tiny dancefloor. I push my way to the bar and the drinks are actually really good. My friend dives in the pile and starts shaking his groove thing. He is one of the those guys that people make room for him to dance he is that good so I start pounding drinks and enjoy the show that is dudes trying to hit on him. Then out come the gogo dancers. I wasn't too impressed. I know the point isn't supposed to be that they can dance but they sucked and they weren't all that hot. By closing I had been groped in the bathroom as well which seems to be common place here and I was ready to go home. My friend had a good time but I think once was enough for me.
