by Nick R. on I was in Pasadena for 2 months on business and went to this place all of the time. The staff here is awesome - really friendly, nice, knowledgeable, generous.... Don't be intimidated, these people love wine but aren't pretentious about it. I think this wine bar singlehandedly took my interest in wine from passive to fanatic - always a bunch of amazing wines by the glass, great corkage policy, and good cheese. I hope I'm back in the area to see what Onil does with the kitchen! Not sure what the negative reviews are about, but give it a second chance. Wine can be intimidating, for reasons beyond any of us, but the staff here is anything but. You'll get hooked, trust me. Try one of the flights if you're looking to spice it up. Sometimes they do a staff picks flight which can be fun - be sure to ask your waitress/waiter which one they picked (and why)!
