The Compound offers a great club experience. When you walk in, it's set up like a outside club with cabana like enclaves. It's sorta like being at the pool with no pool in South Beach in Miami. There's out door bars as well. Then you go into a dark room that has a glass enclosed VIP area. After that, you are outside in like a annex, the bathrooms are there. They could use more stalls, and provide free paper towels, but they leave that to the hustler bathroom lady. The next section is the most fun, and where the celebs typically hang out. There is a VIP section among the perimeter. The bartenders are a little snotty. They need a bottle list, because it puts you in a awkward situation to have the ask the availability and price of each bottle. I know I know if you have to ask you probable can't afford it, but I prefer to know how much I'm paying before I order. Other than that, the Compound offers a typical urban ATL club experience. I would go again.

I stopped into Parish for brunch after a friend recommended it. I met some other friends (who had already ate) at the bar, and ordered the green eggs and ham. It was a cute name for a tasty dish. The first layer on the plate was a base of home fries. The next layer was a delicious ham steak, then eggs, all topped with a nice chimichurri to add the green. I haven't had such tasty ham in a long time! The drink menu was good, too, with some tasty offerings. They served one of my favorite drinks a little different though.. A dark'n'stormy with a twist! The bartender was wonderful, too. Mallory was charming and engaging, and had the gift of a great bartender. She served us many drinks and a hefty tab at the end. I would return despite what turned out to be what probably turned into my most expensive brunch ever. The breakfast was only $14, but the cocktails added up after the first couple hours! ;)

Came here on a Saturday night but missed the salsa lessons. I don't think I was missing much because I heard quite a few girls talking about how the salsa instructor was a male diva who didn't want to teach them. Even though I didn't know how to salsa, I thought this place was extremely fun. The live music is great, it gets really crowded and everyone is dancing, except for many of the creepy men trying to find their prey (some of them are kinda hot :X). The drinks are pretty good and the food isn't bad, but I would definitely eat somewhere else ahead of time. Some places in the venue smell like canned dog food. But hey, when there's a live band, and you're kinda drunk, nothing can really go wrong.
