I've only been once on a Saturday night. Parked on the side streets behind a shack, paid $5 for cover, walked down a steep decline, and entered a room with nuclear-plant-like decor (i know that sounds stupid, but it's the only way i can describe it). Music was alright, lots of people dancing. I don't know if it was that night, but some of the people there seemed kinda sketch... like the guy told us that we had to promise not to leave and to talk to him when he bought us shots... "umm no thanks". But overall, it was a good experience. I definitely want to come on a different night though.

Oh, The Kress. You're all style and no substance. I just had to get a gander at your so-called Art Deco grandeur, so we booked a table during the Eat Drink Play recession special. Even with the food priced at half off, we would have been much better off just getting a cocktail at the bar for a peak at the decor, which seems to be looking a bit run-down already. The service was so bad we had to laugh. We'd barely taken a few sips of our scalding hot miso soup before our entrees arrived to crowd up the table. And when we ordered dessert, the waiter had to make another trip over to tell us they were out of that dish, but then it still showed up on our bill so we had to wait around to have it fixed. It took ages (yes, some exaggeration) to flag him down each time. On the bright side, my date enjoyed his steak and it was only $20 because of that night's special. Also, the singature Kress martini made with lychee juice was really delicious, so I have to give some credit to the bartender.
