by Thomas A. on I really like their Monday night special. For $22+tax, you can bowl as long as you want from 8pm-2am. The caveat is that you also have a 2 drink minimum. The plus is that the food here is pretty good. I must admit this place is trendy, but it is hard to bowl because the lanes are pretty dim and you really can't see the arrows. The negative is that you cannot use your own bowling ball, which they don't state on the website. Yeah it sucked dragging my 15 lb bowling ball all the way from the UES to Midtown West only to find out i can't use it. If you can't let me use my own bowling ball, at least have a better supply of bowling balls in hand. Their 15 lb. house ball that i found was okay, but the holes were too big for my fingers, and I couldn't find a smaller size. I highly recommend the cobb salad and the spinach dip. The place isn't that crowded for a great Monday night special. The Luxe lounge looks small but it was pretty crowded when i went this past monday because they had a private event. The big negative here is that they have a bouncer and a dress code that is enforced. Seriously, this place is a bowling alley, do you need a dress code? If you want to bowl, i'd suggest opting to go a few blocks east towards Leisure Time inside Port Authority. If you want to party, then come here.
by Jay Grode on I came here awhile back but it seems things have not really changed.. still friday nights asian nights, still a group full of guys will have to wait awhile to get in, still have those lame aerial dancers.. anyway I had a blast when I was here! I always forget NY does things later so we went there around midnite-ish and saw a line about a block long. We didnt have to wait or pay because we knew someone and lets face it, really people who give this place 4 or 5 stars got in easily hence fun time, people who give this place 1 or 2 stars had to wait, had to pay, hence not so fun time.. I mean isnt that why certain exclusive clubs are popular? not saying this place is so exclusive or poppin, but in general when you get to skip the lines, walk past all the people, and get in without a problem, its an ego boost.. dont tell me you girls havent tossed your hair and walked with an air of arrogance passing all the other people waiting in the cold. i see you, i know you, i AM you... well I was, now im just old, like in knocked up when katherine heigl and her sis go to a club and cant get in cuz they are old and pregnant.. yeah that'd probably be me if I tried to do that nowadays. haha but I digress, if its anything like it used to be Fun times, good Music, and Beaaautiful venue! GO~ just make sure your on a list OR send your prettiest friend up to go talk to the promoters =) .. i know i know.. shallow.. but hey thats what goes hand in hand with clubbing~
by Noble Sommerfeldt on I can't say enough fantastic things about this place. This is the type of place where you can sit there and be entertained for 3 or 4 hours before you realize how late it is. For those who have never been to south beach this is the place to go. It is affordable, the food is delicious, and you will hear fantastic music and get to watch some adorable waitors and waitresses shake their stuff. We went there several times on our last trip and I have to say it was the best place we went to. If you are on Ocean Drive you better walk by.
