by Patrick Z. on A well-known live jazz club on the Fillmore corridor. I can only review the music and food, as I was not there for dinner, though the Ethiopian food smelled good. The drinks were ok, but getting the bartender or waiter's attention was impossible, even given the slow night (Monday). The band was constantly rotating, with what seemed to be a stream of singers coming from the crowd. They were generally good, so I wasn't sure if this was some sort of amateur night or jazz karaoke, or if this was the normal schedule.
by al g. on So I went to this place with some friends last weekend after reading all these great reviews. This place is overrated. I guess everyone that loves it hasn't really checked out clubs in other cities because Sullivan Room is really small and overpriced in my opinion. Not to mention that the DJ that night was horrible. This place might be decent with a good dj.
