Christ will I ever find a legitimately fun nightclub for dancing in Boston that isn't ridiculously overpriced, makes good drinks and isn't over run with total creeps? Apparently not... or at least my search continues after visiting Tequila Rain. It was hot as a crotch in there. Like c'mon, if you're going to have a dancefloor packed with sweaty bodies at least have a fan or two somewhere. I felt like I had been stranded in a desert for a week after dancing there for a few minutes. Getting a bartender's attention is a little difficult and waiting 10 minutes for an extremely watered down $12 mixed drink doesn't seem worth it to me. The music isn't horrible, it's dance-able but that's not saying much coming from me, the infamous dance machine who will dance to pretty much anything. However, it's SO packed on the dancefloor that it's pretty much impossible to move and find a space where you can dance freely without being bumped into a bunch of people or incessantly groped "accidentally" by creeps. The $5 cover I guess could be worse, at least it wasn't the typical $10-$20 range, but seriously it's Tequila Rain- it's not really worth $5 to begin with. I honestly had more fun dancing with my friends AFTER we left the club and on our way back to the car stopped to dance to the guys playing bucket drums on the street.

SeƱor Holmes was nowhere to be found, but I apparently had found Harry Potter's invisibilty cloak. I was there for 45 minutes (in plain-clothes) as a regular patron. There were 3 empty booths and 2 open tables, so I chose a booth to wait for my boss & coworker. There were 2 waitresses working around the room. I'd flag one down and when her blank stare would flicker over the table, I thought, "okay, maybe my booth isn't in her section". Then the other one did it also. Hm. Maybe I was sitting in the section that belonged to the bouncer. I started my timer on my phone and put my menu standing up hoping it'd serve as a little flag. 23 MINUTES later: "Oh, Did you need something?" "No, I decided that on a Thursday at 4:30pm, I'd go sit with my invisible peeps and do bingo wing exercises to amuse you." Drinks and food were out in 12 minutes. Ok, Thumbs up. Boss lady shows up and when the waitress realized we were there for work and as a perk to the patrons, she actually became a little more accomodating. Before I continue blasting this waitress, I understand that maybe she had a rough time with some patrons. There were some really sleazy guys trolling the place. But back to reviewing SHERLOCKS. What I USED to love about Sherlocks: - it's a cute place. Can't miss the telephone booth outside! - it's cozy inside & great booths to talk business in. - the outdoor seating (when it's warmer) - the bouncer guys were always cool - the food is still pretty good What I no longer love: - the availability of parking. Did everyone drive 2 cars to Sherlocks? - seeing ominous broken glass from someone's car window in the parking lot for the last 3 times I had been here over the past 2 months
