Thanks to Groupon, we had another fun night out! We figured it would be pretty slow since it's the night after Thanksgiving, but it was busier than expected! We were seated quickly, but had to wait a while for our waitress to show up-- we were greeted by other staff members, however, who took our drink orders. Our waitress was very nice, but a bit distracted through the evening. Of course, that's not the thing here, is it? We want to know about the food! I'm a big fan of Greek food, I could probably eat it every day, and the waitress pointed out just what I wanted to hear-- that we had to try anything with lamb in it from the menu! I had the Lamb Gouvetsi which was delicious-- orzo pasta in a tomato base with stewed lamb and shredded cheese. My husband had the gyro plate and loved it! We started out with calamari, which wasn't really remarkable, but they do a make your own hummus deal that's pretty fun and super tasty. I didn't do a lot of research before I picked the place, but my token Greek friend really likes it so I figured that was good enough for me. We were almost done with dinner when the soft background music suddenly got loud and bold which could only mean one thing-- BELLY DANCING! I'm a sucker for belly dancing, who isn't? It's the Mediterranean version of the Rockettes-- little boys are in awe and little girls want to be them! The dancer was great and had a lot of fun with the copious amount of children there who were fascinated, and after about 10 or 15 minutes finished her rounds. The music was much louder for the belly dancing, but it didn't last too long so we weren't put out. A little bit later, the staff all got up and started Zorba dancing and dragged the guests out with them. It was a lot of fun and I'm proud to say I stayed out the whole song and didn't fall once! (though I did lose my shoe, to which my Cypriot compatriot from the waitstaff cried, "That's why you hold on to everyone's shoulders!") All in all it was a blast-- the food was great, the staff was super friendly, and even though we were caught off guard by the atmosphere it was still a lot of fun. We will definitely be going back!

Wow Wow Wow. The setting was like inside Xanadu. Wavy walls with an equally wavy wooden ceiling, with amazing lighting. Decor was pretty modern, and it felt like the entire place was inside of a submarine, but not in a claustrophobic way. I sat at the sushi bar, which which had about 20 seats. A nice touch was that the stock was kept in cases that didn't inhibit the view to the 5+ chefs creating the masterpieces. The service was friendly, professional, and unobtrusive. Everything was very classy without being stuffy. I ordered the 7 course Omakase tasting menu, with the Sake selections. I was able to talk throughout the meal with the chef, who was more than happy to discuss how the stock was sourced, etc. The food was sublime, it seemed that I wanted just one more taste of every dish. Each of the 7 courses was paired with a different Sake, and each complimented the other perfectly. I started with a Oh-toro mouse, then oysters, then a warm sashimi, then a cool one. A palate cleanser followed. Next up was the fish course- half of a grilled lobster, followed by the meat course- Wagyu (Kobe Beef). A sushi course came after that- 5 pieces of different fishes, followed by a dessert course. Every dish was gorgeous to look at, and contained many exotic and special ingredients. I added a plum Sake at the end of the meal, and left sated, but not at all stuffed. Overall, one of my top five dining experiences.

Came here a few times before because a friend lived near here when it first opened for drinks and a little dancing. A few years later, I came back and they started charging a cover. Starting coming back because I wanted to show some people what the Mission life was about. They ended up moving the dance floor from the front where one enters to the back towards the kitchen. Avoid the cocktails. We ended up paying $11 for each cocktail and it tasted like they were using alcohol from a plastic container.
