my rating is based on one night that wasn't too busy.. good music, good looking crowd, but i can see how the crowd can be too modelesque... obviously i'm not that person, so i felt like i was fading into the background, but nevertheless, i still enjoyed looking at sexy ppl!

Us LA-ers came here to meet up with some of our friends who lived in the area and wanted to give us a feel of what San Francisco was really like. Wasn't the best night I've ever had, but it was definitely memorable. Some quickies: - $12 cover after 10 (ugh) - Pricey drinks, but waaaaaaay generous on the shots. - Weird music selection. A bunch of songs I didn't know, then Bieber, songs I don't know, two bars of 99 Problems, Katy Perry, and a bunch of other random whiteboy music. - Stage for dancing. Nice. - Disgusting bathrooms - Fun, decentlooking, nongrabby crowd. - Seriously random music.

In reality, i would give Yoshi's 3 stars IF i was basing my review on the food alone. But because they have live entertainment, im kicking it up an extra star. I went on their first night of Songwriters Sunday. I was told the first band was going to be to my liking (i have unique taste in music) but i was pleasantly surprised that ALL the artists performing this night were outstanding (i left with 3 cds). And to top it off, they're all local! Weather Pending, Jenifer Faust and Franchesca Lee - you three have voices that would shame angels. Each one of these ladies could sing the pants right off you and the instrumentals left you in this trance of wanting more. The only thing i didnt enjoy so much was the tight squeeze in the lounge area. Even though we were front row, it was extremely cramped. But can you really complain when you're listening to great music live? Probably not. FYI - Kelli Dayton (from Sneaker Pimps) will be performing here next month....and i'll be front row again.
