First I have to let it be known that I would rather have my tongue stapled to a dirty telephone pole in Berkeley than go out to karaoke. However, my boyfriend, who I adore loves this stuff and that's what he wanted to do for his birthday. That's right folks, the only person on earth I would do this for. Love hurts. :o) Surprisingly, I had a really fun time and I almost, yes ALMOST sang a song! Thankfully I didn't, otherwise the stray dogs on the other side of town would have started howling if they heard me. We reserved a private room - the Harmonics room. I seriously thought I had been transported to a karaoke bar in Tokyo. This is one of the more subdued rooms. It's a rectangular shape, that has a long rectangular table in the middle and a booth running all around it. A little tight when you have to try to move from one part of the room to the other, but hey, we're all friends here. The high-tech karaoke machine took a little getting used to, but they got it working and the little rock stars in everyone shined through. Admittedly I got a great deal of entertainment just by watching the horrendous videos that went with the songs. Picture it circa 1991, bad hair, bad outfits, bad European disco-pop dancing. Hilarious!!! Only a few songs actually had the artists in the videos. Oh the joys of copyright infringement. I have to say the gal that was our room attendant/waitress/hostess, whatever you want to call her was super sweet and very attentive. The bucket of beers were flowing my friends. Everyone was enjoying themselves, even me, the one who can't stand karaoke. Once our time was up in the room, we headed out to the main part of the bar, and of course the boys kept singing. After a couple of hours my boyfriend and his best friend topped off the night as the dynamic duo on stage and took the house down. Satisfied with their performance, we were ready to call it a night. I gave the place 4 stars instead of 5 because of the music selection in the room. Supposedly there were 100,000 songs in the system, but there were some music classics missing from the play list. Other than that, a great time was had by all and I have a sneaky suspicion we'll be back.

Awesome freaking club! Pros: lots of fun, sexy and beautiful people. Pros: a place where celebrities actually party Pros: The secruity/doormen are awesome! Nice group of people Cons: This place gets extremely packed... so packed that it was unsafe. I even lost my new and prized bracelet. Cons: I received an email about free entry/ $20 VIP all night. Well someone lied b/c VIP was really an express line...no VIP access at all.

Horrible! Don't waste your time (or money!) I went here first on a Thursday night a little over a month ago...went with a few friends and they gave us a hassle about getting in even though we were the first ones in there! ...when we went back a couple weeks after that (also on a Thursday) we just got rejected. The doorman was beyond rude and wouldnt let us (two hot girls) in because we were not on anyone's list. Mind you, the place was completely empty and there was NO line.... after being treated so horribly, i decided to never waste my time goin there again
