This place was the first spot that I saw Anthony David at. I love when a venue exposes me to an artist that I end up being a fan of. Sambuca was it! This place is bigger than I anticipated it being, and there is plenty of seating in the "dining room", as well as ample seating at the bar. I like the fact that you can watch performances from the bar if you wish, and typically (for concerts) its cheaper there. The bartenders were pretty decent. I remember drinks being a reasonable price, although they could have been a tad bit stronger. Its a early 30's crowd, or perhaps it simply was for this concert b/c thats the demographic that Anthony David draws. The place has a "sexy" vibe to it...and I think its a wonderful venue for concerts/shows. That night was the only night I have ever been. And while I remember tasting appetizers at our table, I dont have a "fond memory" of the food. I'd go back for sure...

Almost three years ago, I was in here with some friends, trying to psych myself up to read one of my poems. The poets were pretty intense that night. Then I get a call from my friend in Cali telling me that I got this position I had interviewed for in SF. I remember how cool the staff was when one of my friends mentioned it - they were more excited than I was about the news, and ended up celebrating with us. They even shared their dinner with us. I never did read that poem aloud - but this place will always hold a special place in my heart.
