by Cristina L. on I Had a WONDERFUL time at this bar/club! There is a unique smoking patio upstairs where you sit on a balcony as you exit sliding doors. You just open a window, smoke, and enjoy the view of Castro. I am not a smoker, but went to the patio area with a couple of smokers, and the "second-hand smoke" was not killing me since it was a very open area. The music was GREAT, didn't take forever to get a drink, and we enjoyed the two-for-one special (bartenders are generous with the alcohol). The only thing that was unfortunate was it's cash only, which can be an inconvenience to someone like me who hardly carries cash and doesn't appreciate the ATM fees that occur due to withdrawing money from the little ATM machines at the clubs. Other than that, I had a wonderful time and will visit this bar again on my next visit to San Francisco!
by Beth K. on Tried Silk City for dinner last night, and def won't do that again. My burger was dry and tasted kind of burnt. If I wanted a bad hamburger, I would fire up my own grill at home. I tried my friend's salad, and that was ok. At least the drinks were cheap. And our waiter was really nice. We ate late, so we were still there when it turned into a dance floor. We stayed for a little while, but the music was pretty bad so we went elsewhere. As we left, I saw that people who hadn't been there for dinner were paying a $2 cover. Seriously??!
