by Risa Y. on Thanks to a friend who is (or was) a frequent Playhouse go-er, I was able to walk right in the two times that I actually GOT INTO THE PLACE... The first time we went to Playhouse, we went with too many guys, too many Asians... We pretty much got denied in because there were too many of us Asians invading the oh so HOT and POPULAR Playhouse... but yea, whatever, I'm not going to let that get to me... anyway... The second time I went to playhouse, I wasn't impressed because the music wasn't good as everyone hyped it to be. They were playing random hip hop music and most people were outside smoking. We only stayed for like 20min and left the club. I guess we went in at the worst time~!! I was a bit bothered when I realized that the crowd wasn't so Beautiful and Hot like I expected to be. I mean with the long line, the long wait... trying so hard to let the "cool" and "good looking" people in and all... You would expect a pretty hot crowd right??? The second time I went, I had a pretty good time~! There were go-go dancers everywhere, good music, good vibe and good drinks! The crowd was a little better than the last time I went... Oh and the venue?? Meh, its alright.. but we are in Hollywood~ as one of the hottest clubs in town, they could've done a lot better. I give this place 3 stars...
by Marie S. on THE SUFFERCLUB Everything that's ever been wrong with "nightlife" since the beginning of time can be found here. I'm embarrassed that our city even has a place like this, as it's a parody of a parody of a parody of going to a club. Every time I see internationally respected talent get booked here, I cringe in dismay. This is a terrible representation of the San Francisco scene, and I'm ashamed that they might think that this is what it's about here. Worst crowd and worst venue in the city. You will never see me here, for it makes me embarrassed for humanity and physically hurts to watch DJ's I like play here. How anybody can spend a night here and not be completely disgusted is beyond me.
