by Alfredo Spier on I've stopped going out on weekends. I'm not sure if this is related to being in a relationship or due to the fact that the manfriend is a bouncer at a club. I go out to go dancing and drinking and the person I should be doing that with is checking ID's and regulating at some other club. hmrph. So Thursday night after a prime rib dinner with some of his coworkers, we came by Cat Club for a drink. I *love* 80's music so it was fun - though I was still in work clothes. The people we were out with are all in the industry so we were well taken care of at Cat Club. It was a laid back, diverse and fun loving crowd ready to kick off the weekend. 2 different but adjacent rooms so you could bounce back and forth to change up the music. Remember to cuff your pants if you go into the bathroom though.
by Memphis H. on Start off by saying that there is nothing wrong with an Asian crowd, you can't avoid it, you get use to it, you think nothing of it. But the crowd in general was huge for such a small place. The music was lame, bad mix. How do you go from T.I. - Get Loose to Gnarles Barkley - Crazy? Plus, when it came on, all I could hear was, "I hate this song now." Omari was a cool bouncer, but I didn't talk to him much, I let him do his job. The bar tending is a rip-off, 3 bucks for a cup of ice with sprite, but 5 for a gin an tonic half ice? Here's a tip, go to the bartender by the dance floor, he didn't charge for two cokes. And having girls walk on the bar doesn't make any sense when none of them are attractive. The reserved tables are not very strict about who sits there, anybody walks up and sits down, taking up the booth, but nobody comes by to enforce reserved status... It must be a thing where you call up ahead of time and say, "I got dibs on this table" cause if they charged, people would be mad. The only real entertainment I had was when I went out for a smoke break at 11pm or so, a girl was already yaking by the tree. The pizza next door was worth the $3.75 a slice, since I bought 3. The fact that my friend was dancing with a butt ugly girl, but we didn't tell him because he was having such a good time. And the girls in front that were comparing their titties. In closing, Rouge is not a nightclub, its an over crowded bar with loud music, unsure of themselves bartenders, a decent bathroom (free mints are always good) that I would never go to even it was free... again.
by Manuel Bubis on I felt like the hostess was sneering at me when I walked in with some friends after a movie. I don't know, maybe we weren't dressed like the cool kids. We scored a table in the bar area and eventually got some service. The bar restaurant was packed, but the bar was relatively calm. The table side guacamole is supposed to be best item on the menu, but none of us were willing to spend $12 per person for it. We watched the table next to us order it, and the portion didn't seem worth the price. It didn't look any different from the home made guac I can make in my own kitchen. In fact, it looked exactly like it. As for the entrees, they were uneven at best. For the prices they're charging here, I expected much better.
