by Jack P. on I have been at the Haute this last Saturday with another friend of mine. We arrived to there pretty early, around 11 o'clock and got in after a quick wait since we were on the list. Unlike the Apple, which had a random entrance in my opinion, at the Haute you get inside right into the club, which gave me a good atmosphere and got me into the mood right away. The club playing good music and there is a nice spot for those who want to get a bottle service. The bottle service tables are elevated and are watching the bar and the dance floor. When you walked out of the club to the other rooms you have another bar in the hallway where we got ourselves a drink while we avoided getting in the line and squeezing in between people in the main bar, which was pretty busy. The other room offered a more chill Lounge feeling than the bar. In the lounge, ou can people watch and talk without such a loud music. The patio area is huge!! In my opinion, the patio area is one of the best outdoor areas in LA clubs. My friend and I have such a great time talking to different people there. The crowd was good looking. A lot of good looking women!! and the men where too, must be objective for the women in here. Overall, I think that this club offers a very intimate and different type of atmosphere than most of the hangar-type of clubs in LA. The service was good and the drinks were a little bit expensive like any other popular club in LA, but they were strong and the bartenders were nice and not snooby unlike some other places. The only cons are that the line to the restrooms was too long.. I do not know why people here gave it only 2 stars. It's probably because they were not on the list and could not get in. That's sux, but in those kind of places if you are not a good looking woman, have a table or by any chance know the promoter, your chances on getting in are low. Defiantly a great unique spot in West Hollywood. I think it is one of the top 5 Clubs in LA at the moment. I know that they are open Fridays and Saturdays. I heard that they are planning to open some few other nights. Definitely going to check those nights out. Cheers :)
by Kemp M. on Great drink specials + free oysters + huge back patio = Friday Happy Hour at El Rio! Spring has hit and the warm weather means GET OUTSIDE and El Rio is one of the top places in the city to go. Be sure to get there early to secure a table. Drafts and well drinks are $2.50, and even after happy hour, PBR is only $2. And did I mention the free oysters? BBQ'ed or raw, you can't be this deal (but be kind and tip your shucker.) I was with a group of 10 friends last Friday and we played here well after the oysters were gone and the specials ended. The crowd is Mission eclectic and that only adds to the fun.
