TopFlr consistently delivers -- time and time again I leave feeling satisfied and that my money was well-spent.  A review of our most recent experience follows: TopFlr's convenient location to the Fox Theatre make it an ideal dining establishment prior to any show.  We have season tickets to the '09-'10 Broadway series and will likely be returning before each show. Apps: * Tuna Tartare -- asian-inspired, but executed in a not-so-overwhelming way; delicious and a great appetizer to share. * Coconut-Lime Mussels -- INSANE.  This is the first time I had had these and will definitely be getting them again.  Another app that is good for sharing with others [If you wanted...] Entrees: * Hanger Steak -- Medium Rare; honestly I rarely deviate from this as my entree of choice and never go wrong with the choice.  Cooked properly to order...your taste buds will thank you. * Geoff had the Salmon entree and it looked good; didn't taste the fish but did taste the sauce on the side and it was very tasty.  He seemed to enjoy the dish. Sides: * Roasted Root Vegetables -- has been on the menu the past several visits and is really great.  Flavored with herbs de Provence and cooked where they are just tender enough, but still have a bit of bite. * Pancetta-Corn-Jalapeno-Extravaganza -- I forgot what this side is called, but holy cow...so good.  You have to try this one! Extensive wine list and great cocktails to boot, how can you go wrong here? My ONLY complaint and I hope the owners read this -- the dessert menu has really started lacking.  When they first opened they had this great cherry dessert, but since has been replaced with only three options.  In the beginning they were experimental with desserts -- a tobacco-flavored ice cream (actually really good), but now it seems fairly basic and mundane.  We always look at the dessert menu hoping things will be different, but alas, my hopes and dreams have been dashed the past few times.  Fix this minor issue and a five-star review would be given without question.

I hit this place up for their  "Lights Down Low" party on Friday and had a blast. The bartenders were super friendly in spite of the chaos unfolding before them. That chaos would be the mass of humanity trying to get a drink, chat up someone, text a friend, get to the dancefloor, or move towards the door in what has got to be the smallest walkspace I have ever seen. Seriously people if you don't like constantly grinding strangers, or if you're fat, and this place is crowded, make hay for somewhere else. Sorry for the "fat" comment, but I'm not kidding here. I'm a skinny boy and I was having issues maneuvering around the bar. I have no idea how a larger person would handle it. But in true Tenderloin style, it seemed like everyone at the party was on that "new" Meth diet...  skinny people for days and days. If you want to do something about the thinness though, they make some fairly grubbin' pizzas/flatbread as well as a few other morsels that you can stuff your face with. Some guy came up to me and handed me the last slice of his as he made his way out. I ate it and someone said "Dude... that probably had drugs in it". Sweet. Dancefloor is your parent's basement, complete with air-duct thingys...  but it totally works and makes the seediness of it all seem even more hip.

Help, I'm feeling clausterphobic in here! No windows! Only one solid door! And that staircase to nowhere, yikes! But I kid. Halo deserves credit for surviving in the cut throat club business in Atlanta. The bar itself is dramatic and alluring with its glowing marble and shiny stools. Good quality appetizers are available for snacking while enjoying that $10 martini. Most nights offer some sort of DJ spinning music too cool for your Ipod.
