My review for Circle has been LONG overdue... spanks to my hombre, Justin, for pointing that out, so here goes: For a good few months, Circle was my 2nd home. Two summers ago, I was there Thursday, Friday, Saturday every week without fail. I was a Circle regular at one point, which meant I got to skip the line, get in for free and drink for free also. To illustrate how ingrained Circle was into my brain at one point... Sometime 2 summers ago, my friends and I were walking near Central Park. My friend says, "Oh look. I see the circle over there." I replied, "What? How could you see Circle from all the way over here? We're like over 10 blocks away." Yes. He was referring to *a* circle not THE Circle. Haha... He then replied, "Geez. You should just camp out at Circle. You freakin' live and breathe that place." Sad, but oh so true. So yes, this does contribute to my high rating for Circle but honestly, out of all the Asian party scenes, Circle always guarantees a decent time at the very least. The crowd at Circle is definitely the best looking and least grimiest out of all the Asian party scenes in NYC. Yes, again, I'm Korean so my perception is somewhat biased... but honestly, I've been out and about in NYC enough to know that there's way worse out there. How could you not love a place where the entire staff has always treated you with respect and friendliness? My girls and I are on hugging terms with Dave, the door guy (he doesn't even check my ID anymore), and the bouncers like Sadik (LOVE him! He's our teddy bear!). And of course, they have some of the most awesome promoters (shoutout to Justin and Kevin!! :P). To be fair, I can definitely see why those who haven't been treated fairly or favorably would hate on Circle... but as someone who hasn't been on that side of the fence, I can't think of a bad thing to say about this venue. I'll always have a soft spot for Circle and even when I went to LA's famed Le Cercle, I thought it paled in comparison to my beloved Circle in NYC. What I also like about NYC's Circle is that even though they offer booking, it's nowhere near as aggressive or demeaning as the booking in LA or Korea. Basically, girls can travel in groups and drink a shot or two and leave the table... but it's more just a fun way to meet new groups of people not in the way that it's done in LA or Korea. Any place that tries to be exclusive will get hated on, so definitely proceed with caution... but if you're Korean, female (or male) and decently attractive, then you'll have a good time. PLUS, they play good music and they often have celebrity appearances!

Okay, so let me start by saying that we were there about a week ago on what I believe was a Wed. and my friend lost her ID there. Luckily they had her credit card a the bar (whoop whoop!) Trying to get her ID back has been a nightmare. We went last night to retrive the lost goods and they did NOT let us in to get it and were NOT accomidating at all. So lemme get this straight? We were cool enough to get in a couple days ago for a very famous someones birthday party, with him and his very famous friends. end up @ their table (we did not arrive with them, nor did we even know they were there unti an hour or so after we got there), and not be on anyones silly guestlist AND have 1 of the owners try to pick me up *gag*. But we were not cool enough to get in when it was B&T sat night ? And they have the audacity to hold her ID hostage? This place is thief heaven. Stealing fur coats, ID's *sigh*...try not to take anything of value with you there because they have very sticky fingers If I wouldve written this review up before her ID had been held hostage I would have said very cool diverse place. Normal door, no sillyness. Now?...like I said, theivery is never cute And btw, on a completely different note, $18 for a vodka cranberrry? really? next time i'll bring my flask. Real new Yorkers don't go for that crapola...we'll see how this place holds up EDIT: i have been back since the door debauchery, and for some reason the luster that this place had the first time around was just not there. And they r still holding the id hostage! ha!....and the saga continues....
