by Ellen M. on I went here for a work event on a Tuesday night. First of all, this place is gorgeous. The lights are so beautiful - you want to lay on the floor and stare at them as if you were looking at the stars at night. We were on the top floor. The bar was a bit small, but the bartenders were quick. This place is great for mingling/networking once you get out of the immediate bar area. The DJ was good and played an appropriate mix for a work event. I really wanted to dance all night! I'd definitely like to go back with friends since behavior always have to remain somewhat formal with work events.
by Stephanie L. on My friends and I actually got into the Apple Lounge just fine, but we didn't realize that it was connected to Eve (the dance club), so we left to stand in the long line at the Eve entrance--BAD idea!! Getting into this club is like getting into Opera/Crimson--funny that they have similar lounge/club setups! Even if you know a promoter, you need to wait for them to actually show up and walk you in. Otherwise, you have to deal with the door guys only letting in old people and people with orange tans. The club itself is TINY with couches surrounding one side of the dance floor and a bar on the other side. There's a hallway that connects Eve nightclub to the Apple Lounge. My friend managed to talk the door guy into letting us in this "VIP area" in Apple. The dungeon (as I called it) was a room with a bar, small dance floor, some couches, and this huge screen playing random music videos and movies. Either way, it wasn't worth it! We literally walked in, stayed for 5 minutes, and left. In Eve, the DJ only played house and techno, and everything was mixed into one of those types of songs. The crowd, when we were there that night, was less than stellar and I was actually approached by the same creepy who stalked me at Opera (go check out my review on that place!). We were done with Apple/Eve by 12am, and we got in there around 11pm. If you want to lounge, I'd suggest going across the street to the Abbey. For other dance club alternatives, try Mood in Hollywood.
