I was visiting a friend in New York, and she took us out to Marquee. I had an amazing time. Delicious drinks. Sexy Crowd. Amazing Music. It wasn't magniloquent at all- which I was surprised since it is one of New York's best club/bars. Had a great ambiance and didn't wait in any line( went on a Saturday in the summer) A def. must try if your going for a night out.

Like a million others, we came here because of the groupon. I mean, it'd been on my list to try for ages, so it was a great excuse to go. And bonus, we ordered the exactly right foods to total exactly the value of the groupon LOL we only had to pay tip, and still had a lot of food. I'm kind of torn about the experience, however. Service: was great. We went on a Tuesday night (the day after buying the groupon, so I was actually expecting it to be way busier) around 8 and were promptly seated in the back half of the restaurant. The service was consistently good, almost to the point of overbearing. Everyone was always very friendly and accommodating, even with about 3 or 4 different guys circling around asking us if we needed anything every few minutes. Bread Service: eh. The presentation was cute, but the bread was served barely warm enough to stand up to the cold, hard butter, even though it was toasted. The fact that it was sliced so thinly also helped tear the fragile pieces to shreds as soon as we tried to butter them. Luckily we got a second helping after quickly finishing off the first 3 scant pieces, and by then the butter had softened up enough to enjoy. The combination of the bread and salted butter reminded me of popcorn, which I did really enjoy. My Dish, the T.V. Dinner: Pretty Good. It delivered what it promised, which was a "Georgia Style" sloppy joe with veggie sides. Not sure what made it 'Georgia', but it was definitely tasty and well seasoned. The bread, again, was just a little too thin and not toasted enough to really hold up against the fillings, but other wise a good, comforting sandwich. The veggies were Tator Tots (more like mini cheesy potato pancakes and I LOVED them. I'd eat a whole plate if I could), roasted Zucchini (nothing special), and Slaw (super tangy and very fresh tasting, not bad, considering I usually hate slaw). Also served with the T.V. dinner was a Whoopie Pie was was AWESOME. I haven't been able to get behind the popularity of these things (which seem to be becoming the new cupcake), but this was melt-in-your-mouth tasty. Boyfriends Dinner, the Hamburger: he did not like this much at all, but I'm pretty sure that's because of his personal tastes. He said that the mixture of beef and pork, along with whatever seasonings, made it tastes sort of like a hotdog, and he just couldn't get past that taste, despite his efforts. I tried a bite and thought it was pretty good though, so who knows. Dessert, the Kentucky Derby tart: My boyfriend was once again puzzled by a taste combination that I loved, granted the mint icecream on a chocolate pecan tart was a little different, and maybe not the most effective choice. I dunno. There were a lot of things on the menu that looked really good and I liked to try, but I doubt I could get my boyfriend to go back. I think I'd probably go again if I got another really good deal.
