by Lauren on I went to eat at Preble Garden today and had the worst experience that I have ever had a restaurant!!
When we went in to the restaurant the first thing that I noticed was that the restaurant was not very clean. The walls looked old and had some of the wall paper coming off, especially in the ladies restroom. The carpet was dirty, and looked like it needed a good cleaning. The booth seats were falling apart, and when I sat on it, it felt like the whole seat was going to collapse! When it came to asking what the special was and ordering our food it was difficult to understand the specials, and there pricing. My friend ordered the salad bar, and this is when the experience turned from bad to downright ugly!! 75% of what my friend tasted from the salad bar had to be spit out!! It either tasted rancid, old, moldy, or absolutely disgusting!!! I ordered the taco salad, and apart from the taco shell, it was inedible!! The meat that was on the salad tasted sour to say the least. The lettuce was old and turning brown, and the salsa and sour cream that came on the side was defiantly old, watery, and bland! The waitress was very nice, except that when I told her that are food tasted off, she offered no help and did not seem concerned. When we went to pay, the owner, Norm, asked us how are food was, so I took the opportunity to tell him that the food was not very good. He instantly went from pleasant to a complete @**hole!! He told us that no one had every complained about HIS food, and that he didn’t believe that are food was that bad!! What happened to the customer is always right? I will never, ever, ever go back there, will never recommend ANYONE go there to eat, and will tell EVERYONE about my bad experience!!!
