Not my favorite club because: tables and benches in the middle of the dance floor? Awkward. Crowd usually stand around/ hang out instead of dancing? Boring. Go to a bar instead. They don't make long island ice teas? What? I dunno, the gimmcky things got played out really quick so I started going to other clubs around the area.
by Justin L. on Definitely among the upper echelons of dance clubs in NYC, although there isn't much competition these days. The sound system is great, you can really feel the bass go through you on the dancefloor. I have been here 4 times, twice to see a specific DJ and twice just to go out with friends. The club has a pretty intimate feel which makes it fun to see some of the major international DJs that the place books. I have found the more low key residents nights to be mostly uninspired though, the last featured a broad mix of techno, electro and funky house which seemed almost arbitrary as if trying to please everyone. You would think on a Saturday night they would make more of an effort to pull in a name DJ, or charge a more reasonable cover. The drink prices are ridiculous. Definitely catering to the bottle service crowd although there really aren't enough seating areas for that to be worth it, I would think. I found the security and staff to be generally friendly. Attracts just an "OK" crowd really, a lot of collared shirts and a lot of dudes, generally speaking. I like the outdoor area that allows easy access for smokers and the club itself is generally well-designed. In summary: A nice club to see a specific DJ you like but as a fan of electronic dance music, it would not be my first choice for a regular outing.
