by Sheri Y. on I don't know anyone who wouldn't LoVe to enjoy some nice soulful jazz, funky soul, or underground hip hop after a delicious meal at Coda. My girlfriend took me to this amazing restaurant/lounge for my birthday in February. The scene is pretty casual considering the food is 4 star. The atmosphere: homey, comfortable, and chill. The service: attentive, friendly, and pleasant. What we ordered: $4 roasted butternut squash and brussel spouts in sage brown butter $3.25 sauteed bloomsdale spinach $11 potato bud seared scallops $10 pisco and grapefruit steamed muscles - and a seared tuna salad that is no longer on the menu... =( We were able to enjoy five dishes at an affordable price. The music starts at 10pm and costs $5 if you eat before the show. Otherwise, it's $10
by Kaileen M. on This has become my go-to dance spot in the city. Always great music, great energy from everyone in the place, and gotta love their hibiscus margarita. My only gripe is that it is pretty small, and it gets really packed on the weekends. And the more packed it gets, the hotter it gets. So if you really plan on dancing the night away, I would suggest braving the windy SF weather outside, and just go dressed ready to dance.
