by Lu T. on We couldn't make it to Vegas for the weekend so me and a couple of the fellas got a room at the W and tried to have a Sin City like excursion in L.A. I'm a little dude. 5'4" and a buck twenty five. For some reason this place still seemed rather claustrophobic. Thank goodness we knew a girl that could flirt like a champ or else we'd still be stuck outside waiting in that ridiculous line. I'm not sure what she promised the guy at the door but she got five dudes in. Stellar performance. I think we went on cougar night or something cause the crowd was definitely a bit older. We just double-fisted a few $20 drinks and made the best of it. Needless to say we had a fantastic time but honestly I don't think the venue had anything to do with it. The pool, the view, the cabanas, the decor, all very nice but really lacking any character or soul. It felt very manufactured, just like everything and everyone else in L.A. Maybe I'm just being a hater but I'm just not a big fan of the pretentious ultra-lush club scene, or maybe I'm just bitter cause I'm ugly and no one wants to talk to me. This place is a lot of hype but we definitely had fun playing along with the stuffy Hollywood crowd. But alas playtime had to end and we all had to go back to our jobs at McDonald's and face the harsh reality known as our lives.
by Tony P. on The club wasn't as bad as I thought it would be given what everyone says about it. The only reason I went is because my friends and I were invited to a private party. The crowd was surprsingly 2:1 women to men. For all the guys who weren't there, you missed out as these ladies were definitely looking to mingle. Although, there weren't many hot people there in general. Still, with friends, free alcohol, and '90s music that brings you back to college, how can you not have a decent time? Props to Pilsner for a fun party!
