by Kan P. on Visited this place last Saturday for the first time. Was here with one other guys, and 3 girls. Good decor, nice atmosphere, attractive people. DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER use your credit card to pay the drinks, or anything! This would've been a 4 star experience, but no.... Walked in, order 5 patron shots at $12 each. 5 x $12 = $60, simple enough. I looked at the check, and on it says "automatic gratuity, $12" WTF? Whatever, Marbella wants to automatically charge me tip for drinks, so be it. I was annoyed, but I'll remember that for the next time I come. Got back home, checked my credit card statement. Marbella charged me $84.60 for my 5 shots of patron. Roughly $17 per shot. Apparently, on TOP of the automatic 20% gratuity, they thought they served such awesome patron that they should charge me an EXTRA 20% in tips. Note to self: Never ever go back to marbella again.....unless i don't plan on drinking.
by Leanne V. on wasn't feeling this place. cover was a reasonable $6. my friends and i went there because we felt like rocking out to some hard core 80s tunes, but once we got there the vibe was terrible. i was unimpressed. the "mainstream" room was WAY too mainstream - bon jovi "you give love a bad name"? billy idol "dancing with myself"? are you kidding me? totally expected. totally lame. sounds like they bought an 80s compilation CD and popped it in...the more obscure new wave room was far too obscure...the dj was spinning songs that weren't fun to dance to at all. i would have loved some hall and oates, some mr. mister, some funky old michael jackson - the good cheesy shit! not the obvious choices that they play at ever 80s night at every generic bar across america.
