by Simon Edward on Viva Toro!!!! Wow is a copy of DR vs Mexico!! It is a terrible place to eat, the place is very nice, a lot of money invested, ridiculous food, service some dumb kids who are just on the phone and have no idea what it's like a bar, restaurant or club!!!!! Sorry :)Can not eat, you have to shout to talk, the only thing I enjoyed was the decoration and see every nook and design of this site. They really need people who know what a Mexican restaurant. To be in Northside, that horrible place, is typical only for Latinos who want to be in an environment that is not yours!!!But hopefully succeed only if they change their staff and how to do the best for their clients, not for you!!
by Royce Zapato on It could definitely pass as the 2nd oldest bar in NYC. The paintings look like they could fall off the wall at any minute, the doors have long since left their frames and I'm pretty sure the ceiling is starting to cave in at the back of the bar. Came here for a Birthday party...which be forewarned: If you plan to bring more than a table load of people, plan to go somewhere else. We were actually kicked out because we were taking up too much space. And you can't really just stand around. So even though we would have continued to spend a boat load of money...I guess they didn't want our business. But then again, being the 2nd oldest bar in the city...maybe they've proven they don't need our mula. Before we got the boot, the drinks were plentiful, the wine was surprising alright for a bar of that caliber and the waitress was friendly and talked in some Europe accent. They all sound the same, no? I'm not sure what the "no cell phone" policy is all about, because it was pretty damn loud in there to start. The accept cc's but can only split a table with two. And although I didn't try the food, it all looked to be a very hearty, home-cooked, comfort menu: quiche, Shepard's and chicken pot pie, chili...and then filet mignon? Not sure how that fits in...or really if it'd be any good. I'll definitely go back.
by Jessica S. on This is not a place to come to and expect to be blown away. The food is cheap and decent. Service is mediocre. Stay away from the wine. My friend got some and it was so bad she wouldn't drink it. Rinse your food down with a beer from there wide variety and you will be a happy camper.
