by Vada Ceballos on I've been here twice and I just don't get it. The atmosphere is lounge-like, but it really is poorly painted and the furniture is uncomfortable. It's like they wanted to go for a look but weren't willing to spend money on it. The food here is OK. Nothing worth writing home about, and for what you get, it's a little overpriced. The waitstaff is also awkward and a bit spacey. Is this some sort of training ground for waiters? Mer.
by Gaye Wolanski on Since nobody else has the b*lls to say it, let me be the first: FLUID HAS CHANGED. Let me preface by saying I am ONLY speaking about their Saturday night venue "Tasty Treats". A few years back QuestLove and Mike Nyce would play old school hits all night long. You couldn't help but dance your *ss of all night, get sweaty, and be deaf the next morning. It was a blast, the way it should be. However the last couple of years have been PATHETIC. Questlove is gone, making only rare (LAME) apperances (more on that in a second..) leaving Mike Nyce to spinn. Mike plays weird UNDANCABLE obscure old school now. I simply do not get it. The room will be PACKED and he will go into a 15 song set of UNDANCABLE bull crap. WTF!?! The final straw was about 3 months ago when Questlove came in to spin. Packed house. Dance floor packed. And guess waht happens... Questlove plays LOVE SONGS for about 45 minutes. Are you kidding me? That was it. People were STANDING looking at him like 'has he lost his mind?' Saturday night packed floor, 11:45pm, and hes playing a set of love songs... GAME OVER. The djs of tastey treats have become bored and they have lost their touch. The point of going to a club is to DANCE, not to participate in the djs 'experiments'. Anybody who has been to tastey treats since the beginning knows I'm right... it has gone downhill. They have sold out. The key word, as another reviewe put it, is OBSCURE. People come here to hear MAINSTREAM classics and SEMI-MAINSTREAM classics, not some moon-bat obsure song or some limited edition remix from antiquity. Djs ONLY job is to make people DANCE! And fluid has failed miserably at that as of late
by Naomi P. on i wandered into trigger for my friend Chris S.'s going away party. Dazed, confused and with a vagina. Even so, i had a blast. great dance music, hot go-go dancers, well-ventilated dance area , separate smoking room, sitting nooks (AKA places to get your makeout on) some high(low?)lights: --My straight male friend had his ass grabbed 6 times. About six times more than mine was. what a waste. --the co-ed bathroom stall had no lock so some one totally saw my girly parts in all their vulvastic glory at least twice (no one was impressed). --a gentleman was getting his PENIS SUCKED on the dance floor, FRONT AND CENTER by another very enthusiastic dude. not subtle at all, i was surprised, then impressed, then kind of disgusted, then impressed again. BALLSY. no one else was impressed or even phased. -the only female go-go dancer had a phenomenal ass. OH MY. I could have bounced quarters off her glorious buns all night long if i hadn't been too busy laughing at all the shenanigans around me.
