by Philly B. on Cafe du Nord is one of my favourite places to see a show in the city. It's an intimate venue, with the option of being close to the performer on stage in the main room or out by the bar/lounge area in the back. I never feel claustrophobic, despite the venue's small size. It can get pretty loud in the bar area, which sucks if you're there to see the show rather than throw back pints of beer, but there is a significant decrease in crowd noise the further you make your way into the performance area. The only big downside is that there is no designated parking for the venue, so be prepared to troll the surrounding area for a space depending on the night of the week.
