by Beau Leys on Came here on a Friday night with my friends. Although this place is pretty pricey, it's really nice inside and the music is good. Cover is $20. They take cash only, no card. If you use the ATM, it's $5 service charge...so yea, bring cash!!! Lines: We barely moved and security jacked my powerade bottle. "If you drink it, you can't go in." Anyway, we waited a good while and even asked about the guestlist (find the guy with the clipboard). If you guestlist, the person in charge is Roger. He may text or email you. Unfortunately, he emailed me around 6pm and I never checked my email. My friend sent in a guest list and was texted a message from Roger. Why the heck didn't I get a text! I'm more responsive with that. This guy would ask if I was still interested in going. Well, why do you think I emailed you in the first place!!! Luckily, my friends had gotten a VIP table for a bday and we were able to skip the lines. Inside: It's really nice! But unfortunately I can only tell you how the left side was and up to the bathroom were because that's all I remember! lol At the tables/couches, they have an area where you can dance above the couches and that is what my girls and I did. But be careful, you can fall into another VIP area (which I did and fell in between people on the couches hahaha). They have a patio area also. I saw it but don't remember. I only saw it in the pics I was in that my friends took and by the looks of it, it looked nice! The crowd is nice. Everything about them and the environment looked sophisticated/classy... Drinks: Super expensive! All I can say is pre-drink!!! For real! I got a double shot of patron and it was $32. o_O Parking: Park across from Drai's. Cost $10. We were going to park at the intersection next to it and it was such a ripoff! They get you by stating $5 (on the sign). When we pulled up, the guy in charge said it's $5 first 30 min then $15 rest of the night. WTF! f that...
by L J. on I'm really surprised about all of the bad reviews here. Just because it's Mexican, doesn't mean it should be cheap. The ingredients are fresh, the staff are attentive and professional, the environment is clean and well-designed. The Pineapple & Cinnamon Margaritas are perfect! Duck tortilla appetizer I had as an entree was tasty; great sauce. Guac was good; split between 3 people, $4pp is reasonable. My guests had a spicy tortilla soup and the chicken enchiladas which they both liked. The only thing I didn't love was the rice. Too hard. I would recommend this place as a nice place to take a date.
by Gregorio Oyervides on My evening on the Mushulu. A report by Jeremy B. My wife has always wanted to go to the Mushulu. I thought, "How can anyone pass up the opportunity to eat on a boat!" Well I surprised her on our one year wedding anniversary with dinner on the Mushulu. I made reservations on opentable and mentioned specifically that it was my 1st anniversary. All I was hoping to accomplish by this was a nice table on the river side of the boat. We were seated with no mention of our anniversary. Our table was near a loud party of 20 to 30 people. Our view was of the parking lot. This killed the entire dinner. We were so distracted by the place we were seated that it was hard to enjoy the meal. The service Our waiter either took too many smoke breaks or forgot about us. I had to flag down another waiter for another drink and a refill on our waters. Perhaps I am expecting too much, but when I am paying $30 plus for an entree I really want my water glass to never go empty. The food If you don't care about the atmosphere or the service then you will be WOWed by the food. I will say overall that our food was delicious! I forget our exact menu because I did not want to embarrass my wife by taking notes at dinner, like i do with my other reviews.
