by Helene K. on What I liked about Bubble Lounge: - old-school hip-hop on a Saturday night (downstairs dance floor) - no cover - reasonably-priced drinks The place has a good vibe, and I can now see why one of my friends had said she preferred Bubble Lounge over any other lounge/bar she had visited before. The lounge on the main floor is nice, cushy; good place to chat with friends and meet new people (if you're up for that). Not a bad place, and I like that it's a little more "secluded" than other places; good, relatively quiet neighborhood in North Beach/Telegraph Hill.
by Marissa T. on I've been to middlesex lounge two times. Once, for a girlfriend's 21st birthday and more recently just to hang out with a friend of mine. The first time was definitely better- although we waited in line for a good 45mins. I like the minimalist concept of the bar, and the service was pretty good (drinks are reasonable and the bar tenders are attentive). The music is also a lot of fun, but the lack of a division of space is frustrating. There is no easy way to get around in there once it's at capacity- the dancefloor and lounge space is all the same and their bathroom situation is kind of a pain in the ass (they have two or three private bathrooms (not divided by gender, either) and it makes for a really slow line. I think I've had my fill of this spot.
